Junior Designer - RL Concetti

SUMMARY

The Junior Designer supports the CEO/Principal Designer & design team in day-to-day design functions of RL Concetti. The Junior Designer assists with providing quality and intuitive designs to our clients, tailored to their needs, by supporting both design work and internal operations, through partnership with the RL Concetti team and under the direction of the Lead Designer. The Junior Designer is creative, self-motivated, eager to learn, and interested in learning both the design and business components of the industry. The Junior Designer interacts with both a diverse clientele and internal team members. The Junior Designer receives hands-on training regarding design strategies and client management.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Design:

  • Assists CEO/Principal Designer and Design Team with projects and daily tasks
  • Under the direction of the Principal or Lead Designer works with clients on residential and commercial projects from full strategy to styling
  • Supports the client through design process
  • Execute project in accordance with client design contract, budget for labor hours & write up change orders as needed
  • Maintain consistent communication with professionals and trades
  • Conduct field measures and build plan into Chief Architect
  • Create and obtain quote requests
  • Oversee furniture delivery and installations by attending in person
  • Coordinate with contractors, architects, engineers, and trades, to ensure job success
  • Advise client on interior design factors such as space planning, layout and use of furnishings or equipment, and color coordination
  • Estimate material requirements and costs, and present design to client for approval
  • Regular and routine onsite attendance

Design Team Support:

  • Assists with client photoshoots
  • RL Concetti office maintenance under the direction of Operations Manager keeping office supplies stocked, clean/tidy office in between quarterly professional cleanings, clean/sanitize officer per COVID protocols.
  • Resource Library administration: under direction of Head of Procurement, maintains Resource Library, schedules maintenance and training as needed.
  • Manages the info@rlconcetti email account and client drive folders
  • Assists procurement with orders, tracking and on-site deliveries
  • Schedules vendor visits to RL Concetti
  • Assists with administrative paperwork
  • Marketing tasks: under the direction of the Lead Designer, creating social media content, marketing collateral, photoshoot execution, and accessory days

Other:

  • Works harmoniously and collaboratively with team members to accomplish agency objectives.
  • All other duties as assigned

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture preferably from a CIDA accredited institution

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Interior Design.

SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE

  • Experience & proficiency working Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Forms), Mac computers and devices, AutoCad, SketchUp, Photoshop, Chief Architect, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest

KNOWLEDGE - DESIGN

  • Knowledge of all aspects of Interior Design from inception to completion including:
    • Design and materials for residential and commercial projects
    • Elements & principles of design
    • Architectural selections, flooring, cabinets, tile, lighting, etc
    • FF& E selections, furniture, window treatments, area rugs, art and accessories
    • Space planning methodology
    • Conduct field measures
    • Budget management
    • Creation of precision technical plans, drawings, and models
    • Design trends, material costs, building codes and ADA laws, building systems, and construction methods

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to: Ascend or Descend - Ability to move on an incline or decline, Lifting at least thirty (30) pounds or more, Hearing, Standing, Walking, Reaching, Bending, Twisting, Grasping/Finger manipulation, Discerning colors, Visual acuity, Hand dexterity, Sitting

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Indoor environments in a climate-controlled building
  • Standard office environment
  • Infrequent exposure to dust, debris and loud noises related to construction zones

WORK ENVIRONMENT (IF REMOTE)

  • Must have high-speed internet access and access to quiet, well-kept space per Remote Work guidelines
