Part Time HR Consultant

Job Summary:

The HR Consultant utilizes their strong knowledge of HR compliance and recruitment in servicing the firms' clients.  The successful HR Consultant for Insight HRM, a fast-paced and growing HR consulting firm, is proactive, detail-oriented, a problem-solver and thrives juggling multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. The HR Consultant provides professional HR consulting to client's either at their location or remotely; and works on various HR projects for the firm and its clients. 

Essential Functions:

  1. May research and analyze data for various HR initiatives.
  2. Updating various databases including applicant flow, incident reports, tracking logs, etc.
  3. Recruiting: advertising open positions; reviewing applications, interviews candidates and manages applicant tracking systems.
  4. Create/revise job descriptions.
  5. Conducts HR Audits.
  6. Prepares various reports, plans and documents.
  7. Writes HR policies and procedures.
  8. May conduct investigations for clients.
  9. Prepares presentations and supporting materials.
  10. Creates training program content.
  11. Researches various HR related information for client needs.
  12. Serves as point of contact for client HR questions and triages as appropriate.
  13. Provide project support to clients in areas of recruitment, compliance, employee benefits, policy and procedure, COBRA, FMLA, FLSA, ADA, etc.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Education/Certification/Licensing/Experience Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field required.
  2. PHR/SPHR and/or SHRM certification preferred.
  3. 5-10 years HR professional experience required and 3-5 years of Human Resources Consulting experience preferred.
  4. Must have in-depth knowledge of HR functional areas; demonstrated competencies in HR knowledge and skill in implementing effective HR programs, policies and services to support the organization's objectives.
  5. Proficient in all MS Office programs comfortable working in various online-based HR systems.
  6. Have a valid driver's license and insurance, reliable transportation and be able to drive from location to location.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  1. Must be able to bend, stretch, reach, and lift up to 20 pounds, walking or standing to a significant degree, involves working in the community and in an office environment infrequently exposed to extreme temperature, noise, fumes, dust, etc.
  1. Sitting/standing at desk and on computer at least 75% of the time.
  2. Ability to travel to client locations throughout the tri-state region.
